Community Engagement

Supporting Clients to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.

At Right at Home, we think our Clients’ care and support should extend beyond the home and where possible, we like to get our Clients out and about in the local community. Whether it’s a trip to the hairdressers or a weekly crafts club, we can help our Clients to continue living an active and healthy lifestyle.

Our network of local offices run a whole host of initiatives and events for the communities they serve. From chair yoga, crafts workshops or coffee afternoons, to inclusive cricket and musical movement, our activities are open for everyone to attend. We also run dementia friendly sessions such as dementia cafés and Singing for the Brain.

What are the benefits of taking part in community activities?

Engaging in community-based activities has a number of benefits for our health and wellbeing. Not only does it help prevent feelings of social isolation and loneliness, many of these activities provide gentle exercise and mental stimulation which keeps us active and engaged. Meeting new people or regularly catching up with old friends can also greatly improve our mood.

These activities enable Clients to continue taking part in hobbies and interests they may have enjoyed in previous years, or learn a new skill, something which they may not have thought was possible in later life.

Thinking of a trip or activity taking place further afield?

Our friendly and trusted team of CareGivers can also accompany Clients on their holidays or day trips that are further afield, ensuring Clients continue to enjoy living their life to the full! Call us today to find out what activities are running in your local area or visit our What’s on Where page.
