Ableworld and RADAR Key Scheme

In July, Liz visited Ableworld in Northwich, representing Right At Home Mid Cheshire and they were able to give Liz important updates regarding mobility aids, equiptment and requirements.

Liz hjad the pleasure of meeting their Store Manager, Lottie and their Area Manager, Jay who were more than helpful and welcoming. They also very generously gifted Right At Home Mid Cheshire 22 Radar Keys.

What are Radar Keys?

The Radar Key is part of the National Key Scheme, introduced by Disability Rights UK. The Radar Key offer access to over 10,000 locked public toilets all over the UK, including places such as, pubs, shopping centres, garden centres, cafes and so much more!

Why was the National Key Scheme introduced?

The scheme helps to allow easy access for those who require a disabled toilet, but also prevent vandalism and misuse of disabled toilets. As the saying goes 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' has never been more true when it comes to disabilities, so introducing this key benefits those who disabilities aren't visable, as they have access to the toilet throguh this key.

How do I get a Key?

If you are one of our carers or clients, you can pop into our office to claim one of 22 keys we have been greatfully given by Ableworld! If not you can follow the link HERE to Cheshire West and Chester's page, which contains all relevant and local information about the Radar keys, whether you are eligible, and how to purchase one.
