Empowering Young Heroes: Kids Basic Life Support Training with Right at Home Mid Hampshire

Published: 18/11/2024

Teaching children the essentials of Basic Life Support (BLS) builds confidence and equips them with the skills to handle emergencies. Our recent Children's BLS session, led by Training Coordinator Julie Harris, introduced local children to key life-saving techniques in a fun, interactive environment. Kids practiced safe, age-appropriate techniques for CPR, wound care, and how to assist someone in need until help arrives.

Learning CPR and Life-Saving Skills

One of the core focuses was CPR, giving children an introduction to effective chest compressions and the importance of calling for help. Hands-on practice helps build familiarity with the steps involved, making them feel prepared should they ever need to act.

Making First Aid Fun and Accessible

Through games and group activities, children learned wound care basics, handling scrapes, cuts, and minor injuries. These exercises are designed to keep children engaged while teaching skills that can benefit both their families and communities.

Knowing When and How to Act

A key lesson is teaching children to recognise emergencies and how to find help. By focusing on early response, these young learners gain the confidence to stay calm and make a difference if someone needs assistance.

Our Kids BLS sessions aim to inspire a caring spirit and empower young community members. These lessons not only equip them with life-saving skills but also foster confidence in their ability to help those in need. Keep an eye out for future BLS events and how your child can join!
