Carer with her client

"Right at Home have been caring for my parents, one of whom has dementia, and both are frail. They provide friendly and practical help and companionship and really get to know them. They are happy to help with whatever has been needed, with the highest quality of care. This applies at all levels of the organisation, and the carers are chosen with care."

Dulwich Village

Dulwich Village is known for its renowned art gallery and prestigious boys' school. It also boasts an idyllic park, a golf course, and a high street with picturesque shops and pubs.

In the Second World War, Dulwich Village was hit by many V-1 flying bombs and V-2 rockets. A possible explanation for this is that the British military when announcing V-1 and V-2 explosions deliberately gave map co-ordinates four miles north of the truth in an attempt to protect densely populated central London and focus the drops on the open spaces in the suburbs instead.

Live-in care in Dulwich Village

Live-in care involves having a trusted and reliable CareGiver live with you in your own home. Our private live-in CareGivers are available in Dulwich Village supporting clients with day-to-day activities, personal hygiene, companionship, and specialist care.

Our live-in care services in Dulwich Village are an extremely viable alternative to a care home, offering one-to-one highly personalised, flexible care and support in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of your own home

You or your loved one may not necessarily need a lot of help. But we’re here to support you with daily activities to enable independence, well-being and preventing isolation and loneliness. Many of our Clients say their CareGivers are good friends and their relationships enrich and improve their day to day lives, which we are immensely happy to hear.

Over recent years our CareGivers supported Fred in Court Lane Dulwich Village, with round the clock live-in care.  Fred was well known locally and for many years had been active in local amateur dramatics with the Dulwich Players.   Fred in his final years was confined to bed with little or no use of his hands.  Our carers helped him through these years and always ensured he could see his garden from his bed and spring flowers and the roses he loved.  For more information on Fred click here.

Our care and companionship services include:

  • Social interaction in the community
  • Support with using public transport and escorting on journeys
  • Respite for family carers
  • Pursuing hobbies and interests
  • Food preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Emotional support
  • Help with everyday tasks
  • Food and clothes shopping
  • Washing and dressing
  • Medication support
  • A friend to listen to or talk to

Places our CareGivers take their Clients in and around Dulwich Village include…

Dulwich Park

It was opened in 1890 by Lord Rosebery. From 2004 to 2006, the park was restored to its original Victorian layout, following a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The park is listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Dulwich Park contains a café, boating lake and numerous sporting facilities. Various types of recumbent bicycles are available for hire. Cars have not been permitted to drive inside the park since 2003, with the exception of disabled badge holders, but there is a fee-paying car park at the College Road entrance.

Dulwich Village

Dulwich Village is a rural idyll just 17 minutes from London Bridge. It is one of the few inner London areas that has a village charm.  We support Clients visiting its great range of independent shops, boutiques and cafes, as well as a Grade II listed pub.

East Dulwich Picture House

The local picture house runs a Silver Screen club which is a free-to-join for the over-60s. Our Clients regularly enjoy discounted tickets and free tea or coffee at the Picture House's Silver Screen showings.
