One million people in the UK will be living with dementia by 2025. With few existing treatments, it’s social care not the NHS that people affected by dementia rely on. We provide quality care for those living with dementia helping them stay happy, healthy and independent in their own homes for as long as possible. #dementia #alzheimersawareness #homecare #weloveourclients
Dementia Action Week (15-21 May) is an awareness raising campaign. Each year, Alzheimer's Society works with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to act on dementia. This year's theme is dementia diagnosis. Read more here.
The Alzheimers Society is encouraging those who are worried about dementia to use the Royal College of GP’s accredited symptoms checklist. They are also offering practical advice on what to expect during and after the diagnosis process. They want to encourage those who might be living with undiagnosed dementia to:
- understand and recognise potential dementia symptoms
- come to Alzheimer's Society for guidance and support
- feel empowered to take their next step
- improve the diagnosis process for both them and healthcare professionals.
