Our Values – a Message to our Carers

“You will have seen our values as a company on the Comms Log books and in each edition of In the Loop our in house newsletter.  If you haven’t done already do please take time to read them and re-read them when you have time.  As a carer, what you do everyday is not easy.  The basics alone are hard work, providing exceptional care takes inspiration, sweat and at times tears.  The service you provide – and the way you provide it – cannot be written down in a manual.  Each client’s needs and family interaction is infinitely complex and constantly changing.  We depend on you to make the right decisions and use your people skills over and over, every day to provide the best personal care and companionship we can to clients who are all vulnerable and in many cases very lonley.
Having endless rigid instructions telling you how to do your job would result in crummy care – totally standardised and not tailored in any way to the needs of the clients.  We therefore want to work as a team – constantly sharing ideas and knowledge – to try as hard as we can to learn and improve everyday.  By doing your job well and doing your best each and every visit, you will help us provide the exceptional high standard care we are all aiming for.  The values we all sign up to (see below) are therefore intended as a guide for all of us to follow and at all times refer to, when faced with a new situation or difficult choice.  The values by the way are not set in stone, so do feel free to suggest an addition or change!”

OUR VALUES
TO REDUCE LONLINESS AND ISOLATION
We believe in making a difference in our local community every day.  We want to improve understanding of the elderly and those living with dementia and help reduce loneliness and isolation.

TO HELP THE COMMUNITY
We do this through the provision of excellent home care and
support combined with a complimentary range of activities, such as Singing for the Mind, Dementia Friends, and dementia advice/information stand sessions.

TO SUPPORT, PROTECT AND RESPECT EACH CLIENT
We are very supportive, protective and respectful of each client.  We take time to get to know each client and using the knowledge gained, create a comprehensive support plan, carefully tailored to match their individual wishes and needs.

TO BE OUR BEST
We are an ethical employer who demands the highest standards of behaviour and integrity from all staff at all times.   We are not afraid to challenge bad practice and will not tolerate anything less than our best.  Everyone at Right at Home is 100% dedicated to providing quality care and support with compassion and kindness.

TO BE RELIABLE AND POSITIVE
We understand our clients are unsettled by change and very time conscious.  We are committed to being reliable.  We also understand all clients have some bad days.  We will always look for the positives and not dwell on the down side.
