The Benefits of our Home-Based Complex Home Support in Nottingham.

While our hospitals in Nottingham provide essential medical care, this fast-paced, clinical environment can sometimes hinder the healing process. Home, on the other hand, we feel offers a more conducive setting for recovery.

Reducing Stress: Hospitals can sometimes be overwhelming, with constant noise, interruptions, and unfamiliar surroundings. Home can often be a quieter environment, more familiar significantly reducing stress and anxiety, whilst promoting overall well-being.

Personal touch: At home, patients can receive one to one personalised support, with a focus to specific needs and preferences. This can lead to better adherence to treatment plans and a greater sense of comfort and security.

Calming Comfort: Home is a place where people feel most comfortable and at ease. Surrounded by familiarity and routines, patients can relax and focus on healing.

Increased Safety: Hospitals can often restrict patients' movement. At home, individuals can gradually increase their mobility at their own pace, promoting safer independence and physical recovery.

Improved Nutrition: Home-cooked meals can be tailored to a patient's specific dietary needs and preferences, ensuring they receive the necessary fluids and nutrients for healing.

As a trusted local provider of home support services for over a decade, Right at Home offers high-quality, complex care delivered by a compassionate team of professionals.

Trained by our experienced in-house Nurse, we are ready and equipped to handle a wide range of complex support needs, ensuring comfort and well-being in the familiar surroundings of home.

"I am incredibly proud of our skilled community team for the exceptional support and compassion provided to our clients with complex needs. This dedication was never more evident for our long-term client Darren, living with Primary Progressive MS. From home to a hot tub holiday, they provided special moments for Darren "

Case Study

Working with Virtual Wards - A Triumph of Home-Based Rehabilitation

Client had recently moved to the Nottingham area and experienced a fall that required urgent medical attention. Following assessment by the Urgent Care Team, it was determined that home-based rehabilitation would be the most beneficial approach to recovery, allowing her to remain in the comfort of her home.

In collaboration with the Virtual Ward, our team conducted a comprehensive assessment to identify the Client's specific needs. This initial evaluation revealed the necessity for specialised equipment, such as a rotunda and commode, to facilitate safe transfers. Our team swiftly deployed two dedicated care professionals to provide the necessary home support.

Under the expert guidance of our team and the Virtual Ward, the Client demonstrated remarkable progress. With consistent support and encouragement, she quickly gained confidence in her abilities and began to perform more tasks independently. Her mobility improved significantly, and she was soon able to stand without the assistance of a rotunda.

A major milestone was reached when the client successfully transitioned to using a walking frame for transfers. This marked a significant step forward in her recovery journey, and she was subsequently discharged from the Virtual Ward.

Continued Success:

With ongoing home support, the client's mobility continued to improve. Through perseverance and practice, she was eventually able to walk between her bedroom and the bathroom without the need for a commode.

Outcome:

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our team and the Virtual Ward, the Client has successfully rehabilitated to her pre-fall functional level. She now requires minimal support and is able to enjoy a fulfilling life within her family home. This case study highlights the transformative power of home-based rehabilitation and the positive impact it can have on individuals' lives.

Can you say YES to the test?

Although we believe that most healthcare professionals care, the role to be effective requires some minimum requirements for it to be fit for purpose safe.
If you can say no to any of these standard questions it might be time to review your private home care options:

Take the test:

1. Are you always visited by a familiar face?

Our no stranger promise: We always send the same small team of home care professionals to build and develop a trusted personal service.

Care with understanding: Like all relationships it will be developed over time, building a strong familiar connection with your dedicated home care team.

Improved Safety: Due to familiarity our professional team are better equipped to recognise changes in your health and respond accordingly.

Peace of Mind: Knowing that you will always be supported at home by someone you trust, can provide immense comfort.

2. Have you arranged a specific time and is it on your terms?

Independence: Your chosen routines should always be listened to and respected, allowing you a sense of freedom to enjoy daily life on your terms.

On your terms: You should always be in control, choosing your preferred time's and day's for each visit, it matters!

Dependable: Once we have this arranged your required home support, your chosen team are then dedicated to those visits, come wind rain or shine, through out the year.

3. Do you have enough time?

Home care should not be rushed and you should always be in control to make your own decisions and choices. Good home support will support you to live independently, with a sense of freedom to live your life to the full.

4. Does your home support document your unique specific details?

Keeping you safe: Your unique information should ALWAYS be written down and developed over time, it is called your Care Plan, it is a very detailed blueprint and specific guidance to provide the best home support.

Improving Well Being: Covering fundamentals like, lifestyle and preferences, medication, medical conditions and other frailties that might need supporting. It's not to be underestimated that the detail in your Care Plan is essential to both your well being and safety.

"I have been using Right at Home for over a year now and I’m very pleased. At the start of our relationship they took the time to understand my needs and how best to meet them. Since then they’ve met those needs consistently and professionally. I’m always fully introduced to a new carer and all the carers turn up on time, knowing what they need to do. As my care needs increase, Right at Home have increased their provision accordingly and (so far, touch wood) nothing has been too difficult for them. "
