Today marks the start of Dementia Action Week 2019 and as a provider of high-quality homecare to Clients living with dementia, we want to shine a spotlight on this week by sharing knowledge and advice, through our series of daily blog posts.

Dementia Action Week is an annual event (this year it runs from 20th – 26th May), which unites individuals, workplaces and communities, to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia.

To support vital research into dementia, last month we launched a charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and pledged to raise more than £20,000 across our network of Right at Home offices over the next 12 months, as well as committing to make 1,000 Dementia Friends.

Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which looks to provide information on what it is like living with dementia. Right at Home regularly holds training sessions in schools, businesses and the local community, as we play our part in making our towns and cities dementia friendly.

Why not lend your support this Dementia Action Week? Whether it’s reading our blog posts and familiarising yourself with the signs and symptoms of dementia, or popping in to check on a neighbour with dementia, you can take action and show your support.

In tomorrow’s blog, we will look at the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia and answer some FAQs.

If you would like more information on the support we can provide a loved one with dementia, please call our friendly team on 01737 906012. We look forward to hearing from you.
