Recognising the Signs of a Stroke Can Save Lives
A stroke can happen to anyone, at any time, and acting quickly is critical. Every second counts when it comes to preventing long term damage or even saving a life. That’s why it’s so important to understand the signs of a stroke and what to do if you notice them.
In this blog, we’ll explore the FAST method. A simple but effective way to identify a stroke, and highlight symptoms to watch out for. We’ll also share how Right at Home Solent is working to support individuals and families affected by stroke.
F.A.S.T
F - Face: Is one side of the face drooping or numb? Ask the person to smile and see if it's uneven.
A - Arms: Is one arm weak or numb? Ask them to raise both arms and check if one drifts downward.
S - Speech: Is their speech slurred or strange? Can they repeat a simple sentence correctly?
T - Time: If you notice any of these symptoms, act fast and call emergency services immediately. Every second counts!
