The War in Ukraine & Taking Donations 

Vladimir Putin, who is the current president of Russia, earlier this year unleashed the biggest war in Europe to date, since World War Two with the justification that modern, Western-leaning Ukraine has been a constant threat and Russia. At Right at Home Solent we wanted to do everything that we could to help the victims of Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees. 

We asked our Caregivers and our clients, at Right at Home Solent, across Fareham, Gosport, Southampton and New Forest East to donate anything for us to pass them on to get sent out to Poland to support those who have emigrated from the war zone in Ukraine to safety at the Polish boarder. The Donation for Ukrainians was organised by the Polski Club in Portswood, Southampton.

Starting in March 2022, as soon as the Ukrainian and Russian War commenced, The Polski Club in Portswood, Southampton, began accepting donations from all over the city to be transported over to the Ukraine-Polish boarder. We informed our office staff and our amazing CareGivers across Fareham, Gosport, Southampton & New Forest East about this and we collected a massive amount of Donations; from long-dated food, to hygiene products to sanitary products! 

What else are we doing to support the Ukrainian Refugees?

Although we've done a Ukraine Donation Appeal, we wanted to do more than this. We have been looking for refugees to join our excellent team of CareGivers or (Opikun - which means Care Assistant in Ukrainian) in Fareham, Gosport, Southampton & New Forest East. 

Are you a refugee from Ukraine or other countries?

You must be able to drive, have your own vehicle and be able to read, write and communicate very well in English.

What we'd expect you to do:

· Assisting our vulnerable clients with their personal care

· Preparing meals
