Care Services in Southampton

'Mountbatten Hampshire' is the oldest and largest hospice in Hampshire; they have supported the community for over 45 years. They provide 24/7 inpatient and community domiciliary and palliative end-of-life care services to people across Southampton City and large parts of Hampshire. Currently supporting around 1,000 families every day, and the demand for these services predicted to rise by 40% in the next 18 months, Mountbatten Hampshire is an integral service in the care industry.

Right at Home Solent was invited to and attended the Mountbatten Hampshire reception at Broadlands Estate last month. With perfect weather, blue skies and sunshine, our Trainee Marketing Assistant Lucy soaked in the wholesome afternoon. Watch the video she put together below to see what she got up to.

Mountbatten Hampshire

Mountbatten Hampshire offers their services free of charge to all who need them, which is made possible through community generosity and a team of volunteers. They also offer groups such as the Mountbatten Hampshire Community Choir, run by Kathryn Holt; they practice at the hospice on a Monday from 6 p.m. until 7:45 p.m., and it is open to all ages and all abilities, and it is free (donations appreciated). They performed at the Remembering Ribbons event at the hospice in August, which marked the halfway point in the 2-month campaign; people wrote the name of a loved one on a ribbon and tied it around the hospice garden. The choir performed two reflective songs to approximately 100 attendees, and there were at least a few tears in the audience!
