Celebrating Christmas and Outstanding Home Care in Fareham

Right at Home embraced the festive season at its annual Christmas Carol Coffee Club on December 19th in Fareham. Following the success of previous Coffee Clubs, such as our Halloween Coffee Club, we welcomed Clients and CareGivers into our cosily decorated office.

As always, the highlight of this year's Christmas Coffee Club was everyone singing the Christmas Carols, from Away in a Manger to the 12 Days of Christmas, and a visit from Right at Home's Father Christmas and some naughty elves. (If you missed it, the Right at Home elves demonstrated how NOT to use a hoist and hospital bed in the lead-up to Christmas, which you can find on our Facebook and Instagram pages).

We pride ourselves on providing Outstanding Care to our Clients and feel it's meaningful to provide a space for CareGivers and Clients to meet and socialise. What a perfect opportunity the festive period is for that.
We started our afternoon with mince pies, Christmas cake, tea, coffee and a good natter. Our office staff all came in at one point or another to say 'hello' as many Clients and CareGivers speak to them over the phone or via email but haven't met face to face. Once the mince pies had disappeared, we had a surprise visit from Father Christmas, who handed out some early presents and entertained our Clients with Christmas-themed bingo!

At the end of the coffee club, we sang along to choir-sung Christmas carols, bringing some of our office team to tears. To ensure our Clients left with a smile, we sang the 12 Days of Christmas with a twist. We allocated each Client and Caregiver a day within the song, and it was their job to sing that part on each run-through of the song. It's safe to say there was laughing and smiles all around.
