Catheter Care Training in Fareham
Over this week, Right at Home Solent held several training sessions in our Fareham Office for our CareGivers on Catheter Care at home. We had District Nurse (Lisa) come in and provide training to our CareGivers and a handful from the Mid Hampshire branch so that we can provide even more in-depth Care to our Clients within our visits.
A Hospital at Home
The thorough training sessions included E-Learning Modules, a Presentation, Demonstrations and a Practical, so Lisa could sign our CareGivers off as competent in Catheter Care at home for the year.
Our Co-Owner and Director, Kev Popat, wants to provide people with a hospital at home; this is one more step towards that goal. Our CareGivers spend a lot of time with their Clients building a rapport and taking Care of them, including their Personal Care, which can be difficult for our Clients sometimes. People often feel embarrassed about Personal Care and Catheters, but the provided training ensures our CareGivers are confident to support Clients that need help with their Catheter Care at home and to support them with their confidence. If this type of Care can come from someone they have already built a good relationship with and trust with other aspects of their Care, the Client will be happier and more at ease.
