Homecare provider Right at Home Solent is thrilled to share that it is nominated for a national ‘Care Heroes’ Award. The awards are run by publication Home Care Insight and its sister title Care Home Professional.
Husband and wife duo Kev and Amy Popat opened Right at Home Solent in 2015. Fast forward five years and it is now a multi-award-winning business, which is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission – the independent regulator for health and social care in England. In 2019, Right at Home Solent was also named the British Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year.
The format of the annual Care Heroes Awards is a little different this year, with the focus on the care heroes who have gone above and beyond, making sacrifices in order to protect the most vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic.
The prestigious awards panel includes Dr Jane Townson, CEO of United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA); Kathryn Smith, CEO of the Social Care Institute for Excellence; Professor Martin Green, CEO of Care England; Nadra Ahmed, executive chair of the National Care Association; and Vic Rayner, executive director of the National Care Forum.
The panel will decide on the winners of this year’s virtual awards, which will run during the week commencing 2 November.
Speaking on the nomination, Kev and Amy said: “The past seven months have seen our team come together like never before to ensure our Clients continue to receive exceptional care. With many of our Clients self-isolating or shielding, they’ve gone long periods of time without seeing their loved ones so our team have been a fantastic support system, and we’re delighted they have been recognised for their unwavering efforts.
“Our office team have also done a wonderful job to ensure our CareGivers have felt supported during this challenging time.”
News of the nomination comes hot off the heels of Amy being named in What Franchise’s ‘100 Most Influential Women in Franchising’ list earlier this month. Amy was included in the ‘Rockstar Franchisee’ category.
