Southampton Dementia Festival
The 16th July 2022 is the annual Southampton Dementia Festival at St James' Park, Shirley. The theme for the day, is 'all things Dementia-Friendly'. The Festival is free to enter and will take place from 12pm-5pm. It will all be about showcasing opportunities for those living with Dementia. It will be a fun-filled day with live entertainment and activities; while raising awareness of Dementia and of course, Right at Home Solent will be having our own stall there.
The day is divided into two halves. The first half will be all about inspiring people. There will be voluntary/community and social enterprise organisations that will come along by showcasing some of the wonderful Dementia Friendly Services and activities that they offer.
The second half of the day will be encouraging them to take steps to be involved - join the Dementia friendly steering group, support the Dementia Festival, undertake Dementia Friends Training, set up a Dementia Friendly Community and adapt their group to be more welcoming for people affected by Dementia.
