Walking Football

Everyone can feel the multitude of health benefits of Walking Football to older people such as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke while improving blood pressure. Walking football gives an often isolated section of the community the chance to become involved in something they really enjoy, making new friends, form lasting relationships with like-minded people and generally improve their social circle and overall quality of life, often making them feel less isolated and more part of the wider community. This means there are substantial mental health benefits whilst studies have shown it can be effective in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension.

Solihull Football Centre currently run 13 Walking Football sessions at the Solihull Football Centre, located at: Brick Kiln Lane, Solihull, B91 3LD, right next to the Solihull Bowls Club. There is also a sister location at Beechcroft in Hall Green.

They offer a diverse range of community walking football from Parkinson's Disease Specific Session and ladies only to over 50s, over 60s and over 70s. They are available for people with any abilities but encompass a warm and welcoming community approach with discounted sessions for Solihull Bowls Club members. Anyone looking to join and create new friendships should call Paul and his team on 0121 796 1330, or reach out via email at: solihullfootballcentre@gmail.com
