Lowri Lloyd-Preston - Co-owner & Director of Care

After 25 years working as a Health Professional and in senior management in the NHS Lowri wanted to build a home care business that provides the care people need in their own homes to stay well at home surrounded by familiar faces and home comforts.  Lowri and husband, Gavin Preston, decided to purchase Right at Home South Liverpool and Halton and shortly after Right at Home Preston and South Ribble to deliver excellence in the quality of care provided to so many people who rely on their care givers. Lowri has extensive experience working in health care in the hospital and community setting and is passionate about building a skilled team who can support more complex care in the community.

Lowri’s most proud of her achievements working in Liverpool Women’s Hospital to improve the safety of the operating theatres and before that working in emergency care to cut waiting times. Earlier in Lowri’s career she worked for 12 years in community healthcare, managing district nursing and specialist palliative care and at a time when providing more complex clinical care in peoples own homes was relatively new and it was exciting to challenge traditions and provide new services such as Tube feeding and later IV antibiotics in peoples own homes to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

“I am passionate about quality and leading teams to continuously improve and be proud of the care they provide. It’s a joy to see our care givers go the extra mile and the smiles on our clients faces when providing companionship, and taking a client out to see friends over coffee or caring for someone who is very unwell, and supporting them to stay at home and die with dignity surrounded by family and the comforts that matter to them”.

“ I always like to be available for our team but when Im not working I enjoy cuddles with my two sons, walking on the beach at home in Conwy, North Wales,  or cooking up an meal with friends and any excuse for a celebration!”
