Live-in care – an alternative to residential care
At Right at Home we know that it can be a stressful time when considering whether to move a relative into residential care. However, there is a real and viable alternative.
Did you know that as well as providing hourly homecare services, Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin also offers full time live-in care?
Live-in care allows Clients to remain living in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, with one of our fully trained live-in CareGivers, who is there to assist with as little and as much support as our Clients require.
How does live-in care work?
Live-in care means one of our experienced and trusted CareGivers will live with your loved one in their own home, allowing them to receive the one-to-one bespoke care and company they need, day or night.
For many families, particularly those with family members living far away, live-in care is the best option for peace of mind that their loved one is safe and supported in their own home.
What are the benefits of live-in care?
- Avoid the upheaval of moving into residential care and remain living in amongst all of your treasured memories and possessions
- Concentrate on the things you enjoy doing, whether that’s watching your favourite TV shows, pottering in the house, painting or simply welcoming family into your home – your carer is there to help as little or as much as you require
- Couples can continue living together as partners in their own home
- Continue to prepare your favourite meals when you want, rather than fitting into the more structured environment of a residential care setting
- Receive assistance with household and day-to-day tasks
- Build a special bond with your live-in CareGiver who becomes a life companion as well as a CareGiver versus a rotation of carers sharing responsibility for all residents
- Continue to enjoy the company of your treasured pets
Our dedicated live-in CareGivers:
- Are carefully selected & properly vetted
- Well trained with moving and handling & administering medication
- Experienced with medical conditions such as dementia, incontinence, Parkinson’s and cancer care
- Are able to support with wellbeing and cleanliness, as well as handling cooking and cleaning for Clients
- Are a trusted, familiar face which families can trust to provide the very best support for their loved one, knowing they are in safe hands.
