Right at Home’s Heart Health Challenge – Walking & Running for the British Heart Foundation
This February, the team at Right at Home is stepping up to support heart health in an incredible way! We are proud to launch our Heart Health Challenge, dedicating the month to raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation and spreading awareness about the importance of heart health.
Walking and Running for a Cause
Our dedicated staff members are committing to walking 28 miles throughout February, taking a step each day toward better health and a brighter future for those affected by heart disease. But that’s not all—our Managing Director, Tim, and Community Relations Manager, Maeve, are going above and beyond, challenging themselves to run 50 miles over the course of the month!
Why This Matters
Heart disease affects so many of us—our staff, our clients, and our loved ones. It is a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts, and we want to play our part in raising awareness and funding life-saving research. Every donation, big or small, helps the British Heart Foundation continue its crucial work in preventing, diagnosing, and treating heart disease.
At Right at Home, we are deeply committed to making a positive impact in our community. This cause is personal to us—many of our staff and clients have been directly or indirectly affected by heart disease. Through this challenge, we not only aim to raise funds but also encourage healthier lifestyles and create opportunities for social engagement. We believe that promoting heart health goes beyond just exercise; it’s about fostering a supportive and active community where everyone can thrive.
How You Can Support
We would love for you to cheer us on and support this important cause! Whether you choose to donate, share our journey, or even take on your own heart health challenge, every action makes a difference. Join us in making a heart-healthy impact today! ❤️🏃♂️🚶♀️
The Benefits of Walking for Heart Health
According to the British Heart Foundation, regular walking can have tremendous benefits for heart health:
- For people over 60, walking 6,000 to 10,000 steps a day can significantly improve health.
- Walking as little as 2,337 steps per day can reduce the risk of dying from heart disease.
- You don’t have to sprint—gentle walking, fresh air, and regular movement contribute to both physical and mental well-being.
- Walking with others is a fantastic way to socialize and stay motivated—why not join a walking group?
