Heart Health Campaign 2024
Published: 14/02/2024
Right at Home Telford is proud to support the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to launch a heart health campaign during the week of 19th to 25th February!
This campaign is designed to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and to teach as many people as possible how to perform it. During the week, we will be visiting at least 50 businesses and community groups in the Telford and surrounding areas, distributing CPR face masks, and providing information about CPR training sessions.
We are excited to announce that we are offering free CPR training sessions at our offices at St James House in Telford. These sessions will be held at six weekly intervals for the rest of the year. Dates to be confirmed based on the number of individuals wishing to attend.
What is CPR and why is it important?
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an essential emergency procedure used when an individual's heart stops beating. Each year, in the UK, there are more than 30,000 instances of cardiac arrests occurring outside of hospitals, with the survival rate being less than 10%. However, the timely application of CPR and the use of a defibrillator can significantly increase a person's chances of survival, often more than doubling it. It is a simple procedure that can be learned in a short amount of time.
How can I get CPR training?
There are a number of ways to get CPR training. You can take a course online, in person, or through a combination of both. In support of the British Heart Foundation, we at Right at Home Telford are signposting and offering individuals the following;
- RevivR: This is a free, interactive, online CPR training course offered by the BHF. It is a great option for people who want to learn CPR at their own pace.
- Right at Home Telford: We are offering free CPR training sessions at our offices at St James House. These sessions will be held at six weekly intervals throughout the year.
