Sally Ann

CareGiver for Twickenham

A little bit about Sally:

Before joining Right at Home, Sally worked in a very different job role as she was a part of the customer service team for both Bupa dentists, and Scandinavian Airlines. She took a shine to Right at Home afer caring for her Mum, who had Dementia, and realised she wanted to make a difference in her community.

What inspired you to join Right at Home?

I have worked for a number of care company's who where negative in support to their carers and their attitude to clients. I researched RAH and upon talking with a RAH representative I felt they were a company that may follow through on their word. To date I can confirm that RAH have fulfilled all expectations. Every member of the team is supportive encouraging honest and accountable, with integrity at the person centred care at the heart of everything we do.

What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?

Interaction with my clients and learning about their life. And learning life lessons from their stories and experiences. Enabling them to remain engaged and feel they have purpose in their life and community.

Can you share a memorable moment or achievement that you have experienced as a caregiver?

Getting a 94yr old client swimming after 20 yrs.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?

Crafts, swimming, live music. Coffee with friends. Time with family.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after work?

To sit and catch up with my husband, 2 adult sons and daughter in law. Having my daughter and grandchildren over to visit or visiting with them.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which three items would you want to have with you and why?

Lord of the ring trilogy. Tooth pick. Teddy bear Henry.
