Award-winning local home care provider, Right at Home, has appointed a new director of care to oversee care services provided across its three branches. Right at Home, which serves the Richmond and Twickenham areas as well as having branches in Surrey and Hampshire, appointed Sara Woodley in July.
“Most recently Sara has been working as registered manager at our Richmond and Twickenham branch, ensuring compliance with quality and legal standards and exceptional care standards for our clients,” says Alastair Shanks, Managing Director at Right at Home. “Sara brings extremely valuable experience and expertise to the role. Having joined Right at Home in 2013 as a care assistant, she has worked her way up through the company to this very important role. She knows the care sector inside and out and is passionate about caring for people. Her constant striving for better care standards makes her a valuable asset for Right at Home, a champion for our clients’ needs and an inspiration for anybody who is thinking about a career in care.”
Sara will drive Right at Home’s care strategy with a view to achieving an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission for the Richmond and Twickenham branch as well as introducing further improvements.
Sara says: “Excellent care starts with excellent caregivers who are confident in working in our highly regulated sector and keeping up to speed with our own processes - and, just as importantly, who maintain a caring attitude and passion for helping clients.
“Areas like Twickenham and Richmond have a high demand for quality flexible care that enables people to enjoy life in their own home for as long as possible. While many clients are used to active and varied lives which they expect to continue as much as possible for years and even decades into retirement, others need companionship and are highly dependent on caregivers to keep them safe, well and comfortable. My aim is to make sure our caregivers can meet needs at both ends of that scale and that clients and their loved ones trust us to deliver excellence every time.”
Sara has worked in the care profession for over 30 years, including roles as a complex carer for young adults and as a training provider. After joining Right at Home as a care assistant, Sara worked her way through team leader and management roles before becoming Registered Manager of the Guildford and Farnham office. She has also held the role at Alton and Bordon and has recently become registered manager at the Twickenham and Richmond branch.
Right at Home provides care in clients’ homes, ranging from companionship and helping with everyday tasks such as preparing meals right through to 24-hour live-in care for its most dependent clients. With many elderly and vulnerable people among its clients, it has developed a specialism in dementia care alongside support such as respite care and cancer care for clients of all ages.
