Right at Home Richmond & Twickenham has won the Best Franchise Award in the Spelthorne Business Awards.

The home care provider has been at the heart of Sunbury since 2022 when it moved to premises in Green Lane. Since then, the team has worked hard to integrate into the community, and this is particularly true of their work with people who have dementia.

Over the past two years, Right at Home Richmond & Twickenham has started a Sunflower Café at the Conservative Club which is a monthly café for people living with dementia and their carers. Right at Home was also a founding member of Dementia Friendly Spelthorne which is an organisation committed to transforming the quality of life of people living with dementia in Spelthorne and the hundreds of people who care for them.

Right at Home Richmond & Twickenham caught the eye of the judges after the team demonstrated an example of how they regularly go the extra mile for clients. They told how they became aware of a client and his wife who were struggling to manage their day-to-day life. In response, the team stepped up and initiated contact with other organisations who were involved in the couple’s care so they could coordinate a more joined up approach. The Right at Home carers were also proactive in organising appointments, shopping and ensuring they were enabling their clients to maintain their independence.

Liz Young, Right at Home’s Marketing & Recruitment Manager said: “When we were asked for details about how we had gone above and beyond our service I had to put my thinking cap on – not because we lacked examples but because we set the bar high so what appears to others as being ‘above and beyond’ is all in a day’s work for us!”

Right at Home Twickenham and Richmond has ambitious plans for 2025. These include continuing to become an established part of the community and building trust as the home care provider of choice for those who need care and those who want to work for a caring organisation that lives by its values.
