Magic Moments with our amazing Clients

Right at Home GF Client has an 'ice' day with CareGivers

A Client of Right at Home GF dreamed of putting his skates back on after many years away from the ice. With the help of his two CareGivers, Marion and Vicky, he had an incredible day ice skating. Despite living with dementia, he took to the sport like a duck to water. Well done to our fantastic Client and his amazing care team for making his dream come true!

Right at Home Maidenhead Clients have a 'ferry-tale' day out

An avid sailor, Scott, the owner of Right at Home Maidenhead, organised a day out on a boat for several of the office's Clients and team members. Although it wasn't the warmest day of the year, everybody enjoyed their 'mini cruise'. Thank you to our wonderful CareGivers who gave up their time to ensure the day ran smoothly and everyone had a great time!

At Right at Home Solent's Christmas Afternoon Celebration, two Clients were reunited for the first time in over 60 years! Earlier in the year, CareGivers learnt the pair were best friends at school and were determined to get them back together. Now, at 91 years old, they had a lot to catch up on! Thank you to the amazing team for making this possible.

Right at Home East Lancs CareGivers surprise Client for her 101st birthday

As a surprise for her 101st birthday, CareGivers from Right at Home East Lancashire decorated a Client's house with bunting and birthday banners. Last year, when she turned 100, she was delighted to wake up to decorations from her carers, so they decided to make it an annual tradition!

Right at Home Stockport organise a 'paws-itively' great day for Clients

'National Bring Your Dog To Work Day' and 'National Cream Tea Day' fell on the same day earlier this year. The team at Right at Home Stockport visited some Clients with their furry friends to celebrate the day. Afterwards, team members were invited in to the office for scones and tea! It sounds like a fantastic day to us.

CareGivers at Right at Home Bournemouth help Client to continue his passion for model railways

When the Right at Home Bournemouth team started to care for this Client, he felt he would have to get rid of his model railway as he was no longer able to build it. However, with the help of the amazing team and a few trips to B&Q, he has now drawn up his plans for his new model railway. Thank you team for reigniting his confidence and passion!

Team meetings: getting to know each other and sharing ideas & feedback

Our amazing team members are the reason we are able to provide  such high quality care: it's thanks to their dedication, passion and caring nature. We make sure to give our teams the opportunity to bond, share ideas and feedback through regular team meetings. This year, our offices have loved using local businesses to host team get-togethers over lunches and coffees. Right at Home Bromley are pictured below at one of their lunch meetings!

Making a difference in our local communities

Giving back to our local communities

This year we were delighted to announce the launch of our partnership with our second official charity partner, British Heart Foundation as we began to raise awareness and funds for their great work. Our teams also continued to raise funds for our other charity partner, Alzheimer's Society through Elf Days, cakes sales and Memory Walks. We were proud to see our teams pull together to organise collections of groceries for local food banks and goods for Ukraine, as well as supporting other local charities in their areas. The local mayor visited the team at Right at Home Bishop's Stortford to thank them for their donations for Ukraine.

Offices celebrating 10 years of making a difference

As we celebrated the 11th year of Right at Home UK making a difference, this year we also saw five of our offices mark their tenth year of providing care in their local communities. Right at Home GF commemorated the anniversary at their annual BBQ, inviting Clients, CareGivers and their families. Pictured below, Right at Home Cardiff & Newport also celebrated the achievement, inviting their local MP to join their team for the day. Huge congratulations to Right at Home Maidenhead, Right at Home Derby & East Staffordshire and Right at Home Bournemouth & Poole who also reached the impressive milestone.

Supporting local people to keep moving!

Right at Home Worthing have had so much success with their Love to Move classes that they have just expanded to host them in three locations! Offering the elderly and those living with dementia the opportunity to keep active, the classes also provide attendees with a chance to socialise. CareGiver Hannah passed her qualification earlier this year and is now a fully qualified Love to Move instructor. Well done Hannah!

Building a true sense of community

Helping to build a real community feel is part of what we do: our vital work helps people to get back into their local area and enjoy social activities again. Lots of our lovely offices like to run their own events such as Right at Home North Somerset, pictured below, who organised a Garden Party to celebrate National Picnic Week. Right at Home Isle of Wight also set up a weekly Dementia Afternoon Tea Club in a local church, which has since been recognised with award titles!
