Right at Home secures four spots on Home Care Insight Power List
Published: 12/08/2022
We are thrilled to have four members of the Right at Home family make it onto the Home Care Insight Power List 2022.
The annual list showcases the homecare sector's most influential leaders who are shining examples of excellence and innovation. This year, the list recognised 30 individuals who have advanced, flourished, and truly made their mark in the industry.
It was incredible that we made it into 4 of the 5 special categories.
We’re pleased to announce our Power List Players of 2022 are:
Voice of the Industry - Lucy Campbell, Right at Home CEO
A beacon for positive change, Lucy’s campaigning for homecare workers and franchise businesses everywhere got her noticed as a key mover and shaper in the social care sector.
Lucy is a visible and involved leader who remains actively engaged in Right at Home’s operation. Just recently, she guided the company through another record-breaking year, helping the network win some of the industry’s most prestigious awards, including WorkBuzz’s Best Management Award and the Franchisor of the Year Gold Award.
Her pioneering leadership has led her to become a powerful female role model in the sector having won Woman Franchiser of the Year at the EWiF (Encouraging Women into Franchising) Awards for the third year in a row.
Care Innovator - Ben Selby, Franchise Owner, RaH South & Mid Cheshire
Revolutionising the way Right at Home embeds itself into the local community, Ben’s innovative ways to support his Clients and CareGivers secured his place on the Power List.
Ben has orchestrated an Adult Day Centre in collaboration with a local café, providing seniors and adults with physical or learning disabilities a safe place to enjoy social interaction and support.
As a proud Dementia Ambassador, Ben regularly holds ‘information sessions’, in partnership with Dementia Care, that help inform local businesses about how they can create a more dementia-friendly community.
Ben recently set up a Menopause Support Group for his workforce which is over 95% female – with 40% experiencing menopausal symptoms. Ben saw an opportunity to create a channel where women could share stories and educate colleagues on the difficulties they may face at work.
Young Trailblazer - Heather Wehrle, Head of People and Brand
Heather’s passion for changing misconceptions surrounding careers in care secured her a spot as Young Trailblazer. Heather has led Right at Home’s most successful recruitment campaigns of the last year and continues to champion positive change.
To put the sector’s needs in public attention, Heather recently organised multiple press opportunities. This included talks with the Guardian, ITV News and BBC London Radio, to discuss how the cost of living crisis and fuel price increases are affecting care workers. She has been a leader in the Right at Home network by supporting businesses to write to local MPs to ask for a care fuel subsidy. Efforts so far have resulted in meetings with three MPs, including Jessica Morden MP, who raised the issue in the House of Commons.
Without bold and forward thinking moves, the care sector may struggle to receive the support it needs, and that’s precisely why Heather has shown she isn’t afraid to speak up.
Quality and Compliance Champion - Simon Osborne, Head of Compliance
Simon was praised for his commitment to Outstanding care and his expert dissemination of complex sector issues into understandable and relevant communications for our Franchisees.
To ensure the network has a firm understanding of relevant legislation and policies, Simon keeps a close eye on reform bills and updates to the Health and Care Act. Most recently, he investigated the enforcement of the Care Cap in depth, practically assessed how reforms will affect franchises, and distributed the information to all RaH franchise owners.
Simon has established a weekly compliance support schedule to ensure franchisees have an appropriate level of support and understanding. He helps owners learn the fundamentals of regulatory requirements by offering consultation and insightful learning and development opportunities.
A huge well done to all those who made the list, especially our very own for being recognised for their efforts in driving positive change in the homecare sector.
