Right at Home Celebrates Exceptional Network at 2024 Annual Celebration Awards

Right at Home UK recently honoured the outstanding achievements of its network at the 10th Annual Celebration Awards, held on Thursday 19 September at Mottram Hall, Cheshire. The awards ceremony, which took place on the second day of the conference, recognised franchise offices, CareGivers, and teams who go above and beyond to support their Clients and positively impact their local communities.
This year's event brought together over 200 attendees from across the UK to celebrate excellence in homecare. An esteemed panel of judges, including Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive of the British Franchise Association (bfa); Gillian Morris, Head of Franchising at HSBC UK; and Heather Wehrle, Director of People and Brand at Right at Home UK, selected the winners for this prestigious occasion.
Overall Business of the Year: Right at Home Solent
Right at Home Solent was honoured with the title of Overall Business of the Year, recognised for its excellence in every aspect of the business over the last 12 months. The franchise’s dedication has resulted in a second Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and a WorkBuzz Employer of the Year Award.
Judges were particularly impressed with Solent’s commitment to its local community, which includes hosting regular coffee clubs and organising a recent art exhibition at Fareham Library, where Clients’ creative work was displayed.
Amy Patel Popat, Operations Director and Co-Owner, expressed her pride upon receiving the award: “This is a true testament to our team’s resilience and hard work, especially during a challenging year. Despite the hurdles, we’ve retained our strong culture, achieved an Outstanding rating, and maintained a 5-Star Employer Award. We couldn’t be prouder.”
CareGiver of the Year: Marius Bancioiu, Right at Home Guildford and Farnham
The highly anticipated CareGiver of the Year Award went to Marius Bancioiu of Right at Home Guildford and Farnham. Marius joined the team in 2021 and has since been an exceptional CareGiver, going above and beyond to make a lasting impact on his Clients’ lives.
One particularly heartfelt gesture was organising a seaside trip for a terminally ill Client, a retired sailor, who wished to visit the coast one last time. Marius arranged the trip on his day off, ensuring it was a memorable experience without compromising care for other Clients.
Reflecting on his win, Marius said, “This award is an incredible honour, but it’s not just mine—it's for my entire team and all our Clients. I’m inspired to keep giving my best every day.”
Alastair Shanks, Owner of Right at Home Guildford and Farnham, added: "Marius exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional CareGiver. His compassion, dedication, and empathy have touched the lives of many Clients, especially older men who have found renewed confidence under his care."
Young Ambassador of the Year: Rebecca Underwood, Right at Home Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree
Rebecca Underwood from Right at Home Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree earned the title of Young Ambassador of the Year for her outstanding contributions since joining the team as a CareGiver in November 2022. Just one month later, Rebecca was promoted to Care Coordinator, demonstrating her exceptional leadership qualities and commitment to her Clients and colleagues.
Christopher Neal, the office’s Managing Director, praised her: “Rebecca has truly stepped up and shown her dedication to both our Clients and her fellow CareGivers. Her resilience and leadership make her a key part of our team.”
Rebecca was deeply moved by her win, saying, "To be recognised in this way is overwhelming. This award is for the entire team, and I’m so proud to represent Right at Home. I’m excited to continue making a positive difference every day."
