Right at Home Central London is first London regulated care business to offer Addiction Recovery Support

Homecare provider Right at Home Central London is the first London regulated care business to expand its services to support drug and alcohol addiction recovery. The service is targeted at adults post in-patient rehabilitation or detox to help with life management skills, harm prevention and relapse prevention.
Right at Home Central London has won many awards for its services that provide care and support to people who wish to remain living independently in the comfort of their own home. It offers a wide range of services for a diverse Client base, from companionship, home help and personal care, through to specialist dementia care and 24-hour live-in care.
This new Addiction Recovery Support service has been in development for a number of months with renowned Addiction & Mental Health Advocate, Matt Thomas. This has included a new staff induction and comprehensive training programme on addiction support, and expands on this to also include topics such as HIV, suicide awareness and the 15 industry Care Certificate standards.
Bryan McMorrine, Managing Director of Right at Home Central London, commented: “The market appears to lack affordable in-home support for addicts in recovery. Many return home after an in-patient rehabilitation stay and need support to regain their basic life skills and feel confident to live at home whilst staying clean and sober.
“We are not a replacement for counsellors or peer-group support, but rather a compliment to provide the emotional and practical support for clients to rebuild their lives and avoid relapse.
“This type of service is very popular in the USA under the terms ‘Sober Companionship’ or ‘Recovery Coach’ but we are the first in London to take the high standards from our regulated services and maintain these across such an offering. Our team’s training far expands on the traditional training for such roles.”
Right at Home Central London has hired a team of Recovery Support Workers specifically for this service. Each of them has strong professional or personal experience in supporting addicts to stay clean and sober.
This new service is the latest addition to the services offered by Right at Home Central London. In December 2019, the business also launched a Dementia Friendly Cleaning service, in response to demand from Clients for a full one-off, and weekly domestic cleaning service.
All Right at Home Central London’s services are LGBT+ friendly and the business was the first in the UK to be awarded the Pride in Care quality standard from Opening Doors London in October 2019. The team is also a finalist in the 2020 National Homecare Awards for its LGBT+ services in the Specialist Care category.
