Right at Home Partners with Dementia Adventure

Published: 04/04/2025

We are excited to announce our new partnership with Dementia Adventure — a collaboration dedicated to helping people living with dementia safely enjoy the outdoors while staying connected to their communities. Over the next three years, we will support this worthy charity through national fundraising efforts and community engagement initiatives.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

Dementia Adventure supports individuals with dementia and their families by providing supported holidays and outings, such as Green Letter Days. These initiatives bring families together for dementia-inclusive days out, with excursions ranging from sports spectating to kayaking trips. By removing barriers to outdoor activities and strengthening communities, their mission perfectly aligns with our commitment to enhancing quality of life for our Clients across the country.

Lucy Campbell, CEO of Right at Home UK, said:

“We're incredibly enthused to be launching this new partnership with Dementia Adventure—it is a wonderful charity whose work really does challenge perceptions and help people living with dementia to enjoy an improved quality of life. We recognise huge potential for our franchise teams to build upon the positive impact that their services have, and to benefit their local communities on a wider scale, through the many exciting projects that we are working on together.”

At Right at Home, we remain dedicated to helping our Clients maintain their independence and well-being. We understand that spending time in nature not only enhances health but also reinforces community connections.

The ‘Big Green Picnic’ and More

This June, Right at Home offices nationwide will host the ‘Big Green Picnic’ — a day of outdoor fun and fundraising where Clients, CareGivers, and community members can come together. This event is one of many initiatives designed to encourage outdoor experiences for those living with dementia and their loved ones.

Through this partnership, we will raise vital funds to enable Dementia Adventure to offer subsidised dementia holidays and financial support for those who might otherwise be unable to afford a supported holiday or day excursion.

Empowering Our CareGivers

Additionally, our CareGivers will benefit from Dementia Adventure’s online training, which equips them with the tools to plan safe and enjoyable outdoor activities. Research shows that spending time in nature can slow the progression of dementia symptoms and significantly improve overall quality of life.

Fiona Petit, CEO of Dementia Adventure, stated:

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Right at Home UK. It’s a perfect fit in terms of our shared values and commitment to providing person-centred support and enhancing the well-being of those being cared for at home. With support from Right at Home franchises, Dementia Adventure will enable many more people living with dementia to enjoy the beauty, fun, and sense of adventure that come with connecting with nature and the great outdoors. As their Charity of the Year, we are already planning a number of events and fundraising ideas which we know will have a meaningful and beneficial impact for both their Clients and ours.”
