In the 17 months that Right at Home has been fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society, it has raised over £31,500.
Members of Right at Home’s National Office team took part in a socially distanced Memory Walk on Sunday 13 September 2020 around Carr Mill Dam, St Helens, to raise funds for its national charity partner Alzheimer’s Society, whilst marking World Alzheimer’s Month.
The national homecare provider first partnered with Alzheimer’s Society in April 2019, and now in its second year of partnership, Right at Home has raised a staggering £31,841.91 to date.
Fundraising activities from across the network’s 60+ offices include a 34 mile walk, organised events such as Rough Runner and Tough Mudder and taking part in Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship events such as Elf Day, Cupcake Day and Memory Walks.
Whilst some of the network’s fundraising plans have been put on hold due to the pandemic, the National Office team were able to go ahead with their Memory Walk as planned, with other offices in the network also taking part in Memory Walks throughout September.
Speaking on the partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, Right at Home UK CEO, Ken Deary, said: “As providers of quality homecare services, and with many of our Clients living with dementia, we know how important specialist support is, not only for those with dementia but also for their families.
“The current pandemic has seen those most vulnerable being cut off from their family, friends and other support systems and so our fundraising is now more important than ever.
“As well as fundraising, offices have continued to raise awareness of dementia during the pandemic by moving their Dementia Friends sessions online.”
Katie Glover, Corporate Account Executive at Alzheimer’s Society, added: “We are so grateful to Right at Home. Not only raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society charity partnership, but also raising awareness around World Alzheimer’s Month. It’s so fantastic to see members of the Right at Home team getting out and about, rocking the Alzheimer’s Society t-shirts, enjoying the glorious weather and walking for us.
“Even through extremely challenging times over the last few months, the team at Right at Home have continued to give their absolute all to our charity partnership and their commitment to supporting Alzheimer’s Society is incredible – thank you!”
