On 11 March at the National NatWest EWiF (Encouraging Women into Franchising) Awards, Right at Home UK’s Chief Operating Officer Lucy Campbell beat tough competition to claim the coveted Woman Franchisor of the Year Award for a second consecutive year.

EWiF holds an annual awards ceremony designed to bring together and celebrate the achievements of women in franchising across the UK. This year’s online event saw more than 150 people in attendance from the franchising community.

During the awards, Lucy was praised for her calm, pragmatic approach to supporting a national homecare franchise of 65+ offices through the many challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. This approach lead to Right at Home UK achieving its most successful year to date in 2020, with month-on-month growth during the pandemic, 100% of its offices in England rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and being awarded national 5* employer status by independent researcher WorkBuzz.

Helen Mansfield, Managing Director of EWiF, said: “The rise in the number of women who are breaking into franchising, and carving out their own businesses in this industry, is such a joy to see! We have been encouraging women to consider franchising as a route for business success since 2008, and are honoured to be able to award Lucy for her contribution to franchising. She is a very worthy winner.”

Speaking on her award win, Lucy said: “For Right at Home to receive such recognition, especially given the year that it has been, really does mean so much to me. It has been an absolute privilege to lead our network through such times and as much as this is a personal award, I really do feel it is a much deserved accolade for each and every member of our very special Right at Home family.”

Ken Deary, Right at Home UK’s CEO, added: “Lucy is a tremendous business leader and a beacon for equality in the workplace. I would like to personally thank Lucy for all she does for both Right at Home UK and promoting the importance of equal opportunities every day. To win this major award two years in succession is an amazing feat and well deserved recognition.”

EWiF is a not-for-profit organisation providing advice and guidance to anyone looking to break into the franchise industry. Their remit is threefold: to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, to encourage businesswomen to franchise their existing operations and to help franchisors attract more women to their network.

This latest accolade follows Right at Home UK winning a prestigious Best Franchise Award earlier this year.
