Right at Home Solent celebrates Client’s 100th birthday with well wishes from sporting heroes

Homecare provider Right at Home Solent made their Client Iris’s 100th birthday extra special when they arranged for an afternoon of surprises and birthday wishes from some familiar faces.

Staff from Right at Home gathered outside Iris’s home yesterday (29 July 2020) along with her relatives, to safely wish her happy birthday and present her with flowers, balloons and a cake.

But the surprises didn’t stop there! An avid tennis and snooker fan, the owners of Right at Home Solent, Kev and Amy Popat, organised birthday messages for Iris from a number of sports personalities including Jamie, Andy and Judy Murray, Greg Rusedski and John Higgins.

Kev and Amy said: “We had originally promised Iris a birthday party at our office but with the current coronavirus pandemic, we had to change our plans. We thought about how we could best celebrate the occasion safely and still make the day extra special.

“We put out requests on social media for anyone who could help us with getting well wishes from some of Iris’s sporting heroes and we were overwhelmed with the response from people coming forward to help us.

“Iris was absolutely delighted with her surprises and we were thrilled to celebrate this milestone with her. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen and a special mention must go to Alison Wooden and Michele Sherwood for all their help organising this.”
