Right at Home Isle of Wight rated 'Outstanding'
Right at Home Isle of Wight has secured an ‘Outstanding’ rating in its first-ever CQC inspection. Throughout the report, the award-winning homecare provider, which was established less than 18 months ago, received glowing praise.
During the unannounced inspection, Right at Home Isle of Wight, located in Bembridge was rated ‘Outstanding’ for Caring, ‘Outstanding’ for Responsive, ‘Outstanding’ for Well led, ‘Good’ for Safe and ‘Good’ for Effective.
Rated as ‘Outstanding’ in 3 of the 5 domains puts Right at Home Isle of Wight as one of the best homecare providers on the island and in the top 1% of all care and social health service providers in the UK. A truly exceptional result for the office’s first inspection.
The homecare provider, owned by local couple, Vicky and Paul Butler, provides domiciliary care and support to people living in their own homes. Services include companionship, personal care and meal preparation, through to dementia and live-in care.
The report praised the provider’s person-centred values, highlighting that “people were placed at the heart of the service” and all the team “went above and beyond to learn about people’s life experiences, using all the information gathered to support people to live fulfilled lives.”
During the inspection on 5 October, CQC representatives spoke with the Right at Home employees, service users and their family members as well as the senior management team.
The business is a passionate, values-led provider creating a family-feel culture at every level of its offering. This shone through in the report as it highlighted that Clients and employees alike couldn’t speak highly enough about Right at Home Isle of Wight’s service. One employee praised the business saying: “I love it, the owners and office team really do care for everyone; the Clients and staff. They really look after and value us. I have never been so well supported in a job”.
Vicky & Paul Butler | Owners"We are bursting with pride with what we have achieved in our first year. We have the best team and feel very grateful to have each and every one of them in our Right at Home family."
This tops off a great year for the provider, having secured a 10/10 score on the independent homecare review site homecare.co.uk in the first seven months of business and winning the Community Impact Award at the Right at Home network’s annual Celebration Awards for their Dementia Afternoon Tea Club. A not-for-profit initiative, the Dementia Afternoon Tea Club was set up by Vicky and Paul earlier this year and received glowing praise within the report. Inspectors applauded the positive impact it has had on local people living with dementia and their families.
